the Pond

The Pond is about 5 acres and is used by the irrigation co. for storage. At the end of the watering season when they quit having water in the ditch and ponds, as the water dries up small fish (1") are stranded and the birds come and feast. One day I counted over 60 Common White Egrets hanging out in the drying pond. There is also an occasional Great Blue Heron.
